Job Description

Our client is seeking a skilled and certified Millwright to join their team. This role is essential to ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of complex machinery and equipment within various facilities. Travel across southern Wisconsin, Eastern Minnesota and Northern Illinois REQUIRED as we go to the customer.

Key Responsibilities for Certified Millwright:

Assembly and Installation for Certified Millwright:

  • Assemble, install, and align machinery and equipment in compliance with technical manuals and specifications.
  • Test machines after installation to ensure proper functionality.

Maintenance and Repair for Certified Millwright:

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues using diagnostic equipment and technical manuals.
  • Identify problematic machine parts, perform temporary repairs, or replace with new components.
  • Oversee preventive maintenance activities, including lubricating parts, replacing worn components, and addressing potential issues.

Equipment Management for Certified Millwright:

  • Plan the layout and placement of machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and optimize production efficiency.
  • Operate machinery or equipment, such as forklifts, to transport mechanical parts and equipment.

Safety Compliance for Certified Millwright:

  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform regular safety checks and risk assessments on equipment and machinery.

Dismantling and Upgrades

  • Disassemble outdated machinery and install new, more efficient systems.
  • Collaborate with engineers and other stakeholders to implement upgrades and improvements.

Skills and Qualifications for Certified Millwright:

  • Certified Millwright with completion of an apprenticeship program or equivalent.
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment, including the ability to read blueprints, machine manuals, and technical documents.
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and diagnostic techniques to resolve machine issues.
  • Strong manual dexterity for handling small parts and tools.
  • Mechanical aptitude in operating tools such as wrenches, hammers, and forklifts.
  • Excellent mathematical skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Team player with effective communication skills for interacting with engineers, plant managers, and vendors.
  • Familiarity with safety protocols and an acute awareness of potential safety risks.

Experience Requirements for Certified Millwright:

  • Proven experience as a Millwright, including expertise in complex machinery and equipment.
  • Experience working independently with technical knowledge and problem-solving skills.
  • Supervisory experience is a plus for positions involving team leadership.
